Camp with us in the superb Great Langdale valley. An ideal base from which to walk, climb or just go sightseeing. Situated at the head of the valley, within walking distance of some classic Lakeland inns, including the NT-owned Sticklebarn, our campsite offers tent pitches, space for campervans and cosy camping pods.
You can try out our on site fixed orienteering course - loads of fun for all levels and abilities - just pick up a map at reception for £1.50. For those who fancy a bit of an adrenalin rush, you can join Quest 4 Adventure during the school holidays and have a go at rock climbing, gorge-scrambling and more.
Our campsite is a good base for those wishing to venture up England's highest peak, Scafell Pike. We have a great on site shop - carbo-load before you head out on the hills.
From mid September, our pods will have electricity too.
You can book a Lake District campsite online for a minimum of 2 nights or just turn up subject to availability. We are a quiet site and ask that no group is larger than 4 adults camping together. Please read our full terms and conditions on the Lake District camping section of the National Trust website.
All profit from campsite fees supports our conservation projects.
We hope to see you soon!
Other things to do in Great Langdale:
I am the Seasonal Supervisor working at Low Wray and Great Langdale campsites. I live in Hawkshead and absolutely love commuting to both campsites by bike. I'm active and passionate about the south lakes and enjoy being part of both campsite teams.
