The best run in the Lakes

Season:Any
Duration:2 hours or less
Activity:Running

Fell Foot country park is situated at the southern end of Windermere and offers unrivalled views up the lake. Around the country park there is a fantastic run route that gives you a chance to explore all the best bits of the park and clock the views up the lake.

The run can be started anywhere but the boathouse cafe is a great place to start as refreshments are then available at the end! From the cafe run up the road past the shop and turn right at the large anchor. Follow this along and contour around the park towards the play area. Go past the play area down to the lake shore, follow the path across the southern field to the gate. From here head straight on along the mown path through the meadows alongside the road and then around to the lake. Keep following the path back to the gate. From here head back along the shore till you reach the cafe. Either finish here after 2.5kms or go for another lap to justify the cake to go with the coffee!
